The book was written by Slovak writer Anton Lauček. It was donated by o.z. A smile for others. 

A new edition of Anton Lauček's mature debut was reissued years later (the first edition was published in 1982) with slight modifications. The Slovak village is smilingly described in it and its inhabitants are portrayed with great understanding and love. Even after almost forty years, it is still an exceptionally fresh and still up-to-date book written in a captivatingly direct language - beautiful Slovak. The author's sarcastic, sad-cheerful and tender-harsh stories can cut you, but especially caress, and often immediately. Captivating short stories will also interest the contemporary reader, because a person needs a caress for the soul now as much as years ago. Maybe even more. (Goran Lenčo)
